About Karl Reeves
In 1992, after graduating from SUNY Potsdam, Karl joined the family business, Consolidated Elevator. While “learning the ropes” at Consolidated, he went on to finish his degree in electrical engineering. He has since received his QEI accreditation and is a Qualified Elevator Inspector.
Karl has achieved in other fields as well. In the late 1990’s, Karl left Consolidated for a while. He spent time as a stockbroker at Taglich Brothers, where he received his Series 24 in under two years and became the highest producing broker in the firm, behind the main partners. He wrote research and excelled in the Private Placement market. He later went on to run his own desk at Stearne Agee & Leach. As Karl says: “My strong track record was shaped by my belief in conducting straightforward, honest business with every client and colleague and never “hiding under a desk.”
Karl never lost contact with his roots in the Elevator Industry. He would consult with his father on a regular basis. In 2007, Karl helped streamlined Consolidated Elevator’s processes and procedures, while still running his financial services business. By 2010, Karl was inspired by the way he was able to apply his experiences in the financial world to the elevator business and returned full time… as CEO.
In 2012, Consolidated purchased Colonial Elevator, a competing elevator company, ostensibly doubling the revenue of the company in just 3 years.
